We respectfully acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting ground, gathering place, and travelling route for the Nêhiyawak (Cree), Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Métis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux. We honour the rich histories, languages, and cultures of these peoples, whose footsteps have marked this land for centuries. This place – ᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ, amiskwacîwâskahikan, Edmonton – reminds us of our shared heritage and the spirit and intent of Treaty, which we must truthfully acknowledge in our stories and decisions.
